You get paid

$2,500 MXN per door, paid out to you via Wise, Mexican bank transfer, or applied as a credit if you're an existing PlayaStays owner.

Frequently asked questions

How much do I earn per referral?
$2,500 MXN per door that signs a property management agreement. Bring us a portfolio of 5 or more doors in a single referral and we bump it to $5,000 MXN per door across the whole portfolio. If your referred owner has multiple units, you’re paid per unit. There’s no cap on how many referrals you can submit.
When do I get paid?
Within 30 days after the owner signs their property management agreement and the property goes live in our portfolio. We pay via Wise, Mexican bank transfer (CLABE), or — if you're a PlayaStays owner already — as a credit against your next monthly statement.
I'm a realtor. What if my client decides to sell their property later?
We refer them straight back to you. We don't sell properties — our Sell Your Property service exists to advise owners who are considering a sale (helping them weigh options, prepare the asset, understand fideicomiso transfer, etc.), and when they're ready to list, we send them to a real estate professional. Your client stays your client. We can put that in writing in the referral agreement on request.
What if the owner already had contact with PlayaStays?
As long as the owner hasn't already signed a management agreement with us when you submit your referral, you're credited. If they reached out months ago and went cold, your fresh referral re-opens the conversation and you get the credit when they sign.
Are referral fees taxed in Mexico?
Yes — referral payments are reportable income in Mexico, and we'll need a CFDI invoice from you (or your business) before we pay out. If you're not RFC-registered, we can pay through alternate structures; just let us know on the form. We'll work with your accountant.
I'm an existing PlayaStays owner. How does refer-a-friend work?
You get $2,500 MXN credited to your next monthly owner statement. Your referred friend also gets a $2,500 MXN credit on their first statement when they sign on. Both sides win. The same form below handles owner referrals — just pick "Current PlayaStays owner" as your relationship.
Is there a limit on referrals?
No cap. We work with realtors who refer one or two owners a year and with brokers/community leaders who refer dozens. The structure scales with you.
Do you cover all of Quintana Roo?
Yes — we operate in Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Puerto Morelos, Akumal, Xpu-Ha, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, and Chetumal. If your referred owner has a property anywhere in Quintana Roo, the referral fee applies.
