Design / FurnishingContractor

Interior Decorator / Designer

Tulum
Contract — varies by project

We furnish and style vacation rentals across the Riviera Maya, and we're looking for an interior decorator who can take a property from empty to guest-ready — beautiful, durable, and built to photograph well and earn five-star reviews. You'll choose the furniture, soft goods, art, and décor, then handle sourcing and procurement so everything arrives, fits the space, and matches the look. This is hands-on: equal parts design eye and getting-it-done.

You'll work directly with Chris and our local team, often on a deadline tied to a property's launch or turnover. Most projects are individual condos and homes in Tulum and Playa del Carmen.

What you'll do

  • Design the look and feel of each property — layout, palette, furniture, lighting, art, and décor — suited to the space and the guests it attracts
  • Select and source furniture and household items: shop local and online suppliers, compare options, and stay within each property's budget
  • Handle procurement end to end — quotes, purchasing, delivery coordination, and follow-through so everything arrives on time and complete
  • Coordinate furniture assembly, installation, and on-site styling, and be present for the final setup
  • Choose and source the finishing details — linens, kitchenware, towels, art, plants, and the small touches guests notice
  • Build repeatable furnishing packages that can be adapted across multiple properties
  • Flag quality and durability issues — we furnish for heavy guest use and a humid coastal climate, so pieces have to last

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in interior decorating, design, or home staging (vacation rentals, hospitality, or residential)
  • A strong eye for spaces that are both beautiful and practical for short-term rental use
  • Experience sourcing and purchasing furniture and home goods — you know local suppliers, or you're great at finding them
  • Organized and reliable with budgets, orders, and delivery timelines
  • Based in or able to work across Tulum and Playa del Carmen; own transport a strong plus
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred (you'll deal with local suppliers and our team)
  • A portfolio or photos of past work

What you get

  • Steady, ongoing project work with a growing local company — paid reliably, on time
  • Creative ownership of each property's look, start to finish
  • A team that values quality and treats you as a partner, not a vendor to chase
  • Real budgets to do the work properly, and room to grow as we add properties
